Eric H. Hintz is a criminal defense attorney in Sacramento, California. Eric represents clients throughout Northern California in cases involving criminal defense and white collar criminal defense.

In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Eric has been recognized by his peers as a "Super Lawyer" in Criminal Defense.

A lifelong resident of the Sacramento area, Eric graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1977. Eric received his undergraduate degree in Economics in 1982 from the University of California at Davis.

After graduation from college, Eric pursued and received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Upon graduating from law school in 1985, Eric returned to Sacramento where along with his wife Ronda, he has raised his family consisting of four boys. Three of those boys, Ryan, Brandon and Christopher are now married with children of their own. His youngest son, Eric, is attending college in Santa Barbara.

Eric began his legal career in 1984 as a law clerk and later an associate attorney with Wilke, Fleury, Hoffelt, Gould & Birney. Eric later established a law partnership with his father, Hamilton Hintz before forming his own firm Hintz & Welch in 1993. In 2015, Eric opened The Law Offices of Eric H. Hintz where he is joined in the practice of law by his son Brandon.

With more than 32 years of legal experience, Eric remains committed to a personal hands-on approach to practicing law. Eric also regularly provides pro bono legal representation to those unable to afford his services.
