Bio

My name is Jason Korner and I am a criminal defense lawyer because I get to help people during one of the hardest times in their lives. I get to help ease some of the stress and anxiety people feel when dealing with the criminal justice system. I choose to work in criminal defense because it gives me the opportunity to make a profound positive impact on my clients’ lives. When I started my career as a prosecutor I enjoyed my work but there was something missing.

When I left the prosecutor’s office and became a defense attorney I found the missing piece was client interaction and having a specific person who I was fighting for in court. At that time I worked for a small criminal defense firm that handled mostly DWI cases. Although I had found the client interaction that would become the most rewarding part of my work, I felt like some case results were not maximized because the firm never took any cases to trial.

Although I enjoyed my time with that small law firm, I wanted to make sure my clients got the service and representation I believed they deserved. I left the small law firm and opened my own law office in Clayton, Missouri. I took my first case to a jury trial within the first year of opening the firm, and got a not guilty verdict for a St. Louis schoolteacher who had been charged with a DWI in Columbia, Missouri. I have never looked back, and for the past eleven years I have fought for clients in cases ranging from traffic tickets to murder to complex federal drug conspiracy cases. I am proud that I have built the skills and relationships necessary to effectively advocate for my clients at the highest level.
