Bio

Jeremy was born and raised in Clayton, North Carolina. He went to high school in Clayton and went to college at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. He graduated magna cum laude at Campbell University with a degree in Trust Management (B.B.A.). After college, Jeremy left North Carolina to head to the Sunshine State where he attended Stetson University College of Law. It was at law school where Jeremy began learning what it means and what it takes to be a hardworking trial attorney. He was a member of Stetson’s #1 nationally-ranked advocacy team, and traveled nationally to represent his team. Jeremy also received many awards while at Stetson University College of Law, such as the Walter Mann Award and the Victor O. Wehle Award. Most recently, Jeremy passed the difficult and prestigious test to become a Florida Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney.

The Victor O. Wehle award is given to a single student in a graduating class who has shown the greatest potential for being an outstanding leader in the legal profession. In addition to these accolades, Jeremy received the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award for performing outstanding pro bono service during law school. Jeremy graduated cum laude in law school, meaning he graduated in the top 20% of his graduating class. After law school, Jeremy began working at de la Parte & Gilbert, P.A., a firm in downtown Tampa, Florida where he practiced commercial litigation and personal injury law. In 2009, Jeremy joined the Public Defender’s Office in the Sixth Judicial Circuit to pursue his dream of becoming a trial lawyer. As an assistant public defender, Jeremy handled thousands of criminal cases and dealt with thousands of criminal defendants. He tried several felony and misdemeanor cases, such as Driving Under the Influence (“DUI”), Battery, Felony Battery, Grand Theft, Petit Theft, Fleeing or Eluding, and has handled attempted murder, arson, and sex charges. He’s also extremely familiar with Florida’s sentencing enhancements, such as PRR, HFO, VCC, and 10-20-Life.

Beyond trying cases, Jeremy has argued many motions to suppress. In one case, Jeremy successfully argued a motion excluding all of the state’s evidence on a case where the client was facing mandatory life in prison. After his position at the Public Defender’s office, Jeremy founded Clark Law.
