Bio

Russell B. Long was born October 16, 1967 at Conway Hospital, in Horry County. He graduated Myrtle Beach High School in 1985, and continued his education at the University of South Carolina, graduating with a Degree in Political Science in 1989. Russell received his Doctorate in Law from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992.

His first year removed from law school Russell served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Sidney T. Floyd, the then Resident Circuit Judge of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. He joined forces with his brother, J. Scott Long in 1993, forming the Long Law Firm. From 1994 to 1997 Russell was a partner in the law firm of Long, Long, and Monckton, P.A. Russell served as the City Prosecutor for the Municipal Court of the City of Myrtle Beach from 1996 to 2001. During that tenure, Russell prosecuted hundreds of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and other misdemeanor cases. In 1997, Russell formed his current practice, Russell B. Long, P.A., a general practice firm focusing on criminal and civil litigation.

Russell has handled thousands of matters ranging from speeding tickets to murder trials, and has had civil recoveries on personal injury matters ranging from small claims court to over one million dollars.

Russell is a member of the Horry County, State of South Carolina, and U.S. District Court bar. He has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell as a BV Distinguished practicing attorney from 2004 until present, a rating established by the highest peer reviews.
